Etichetta Blu DOC ~ 2022
The Buonamico Estate is set southwest of Montecarlo, in the Cercatoja area, and it covers a surface of 100 hectares, 48 of which are dedicated to specialized vineyards. The winery was founded by renowned restaurateurs from Turin in the early 1960s, with the purpose of furnishing their restaurant with Montecarlo wines. Today the Estate, owned by the Fontana Family, has expanded in terms of both vineyards and wine cellar. While preserving the essential characteristics of a traditional winemaking style, “Buonamico” has now become one of the Montecarlo’s leading wine producers.
Appellation: Montecarlo, Italy
Grapes: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon– ABV 14%
Tasting notes: Wine with a very clear scent, with very intense dark fruit notes and flowers, cocoa, vanilla and spices which define its complexity. It is a wine that keeps the specific characteristics of Montecarlo DOC, but the structure is remarkable because of the ageing of the Sangiovese barriques for 7 months. It has a velvety, wide and dense taste at the beginning, with clear but rounded tannins and it is well balanced and persistent.
Pairings: Tasty soups, grilled and stewed white meat, grilled red meat, grilled red meat, eel, cod, fish soups, medium aged cheese.
Producer: Tenuta del Buonamico
