Rainbow’s End Cabernet Franc Blanc de Noir ~ 2023

“Rainbow’s End” is the name of the Malan family’s wine estate near Stellenbosch. This acclaimed producer of quality single varietal Cabernet Franc since 2005, demonstrates a particular aptitude for making exquisite Rosé wines. This Cabernet Franc Rosé is made from a selected block of grapes from the estate cared for throughout the year with this wine in mind, harvested for optimal clarity and quality.

Appellation: Stellenbosch, South Africa

Grapes: 100% Cabernet Franc – ABV 13.5%
Tasting notes:  Vibrant nose with aromas of white flowers and freshly sliced apples. The flavors are bright with fresh fruit and hints of ruby grapefruit. It is well-balanced, and dry with a refreshing yet subtle acidity and a hint of minerality.
Pairings: Summer dishes, tuna steak, summer salad with strawberries.

Reign Of Terroir “The White”

This white blend is produced from vines with an average age of 7 years, planted in soils with a composition of slate & quartz. Sustainably grown and arid in a harsh, dry climate this wine, the juice from each variety is fermented separately, remaining with its lees for several months before being blended by oenologist Ben Jordaan.
Appellation: Swartland, South Africa

Grapes: 38% Viognier, 31% Grenache Blanc, 31% Roussanne – ABV 13%

Tasting notes: Intense aromas of green fruits and citrus fruits like pear, green apple, mango, and white peach with notes of overripe pear, guava, and honey. Palate is well balanced with excellent acidity giving a full-body and a lingering finish.
Pairings: Semi-soft cheeses, paella, salmon, scallops, sea bass, chicken, pork, turkey, veal, Indian dishes.

Elgin Noir Merlot ~ 2018

Elgin Vintners, since 2003, is based in the unique, cool-climate Elgin Valley, located near the cold Atlantic and is 500 – 900m above sea level, surrounded by mountain ranges. The vineyards are established on previously aged apple orchards. The rich in organic matter soils consist mainly of decomposed granite, sandstone, and shale.

Appellation: Elgin Valley, South Africa

Grapes: 100% Merlot – ABV 14%
Tasting notes: Rich aromas of ripe mulberries and cherries interfused with mocha, forest leaves, sweet spice, and notes of vanilla. Juicy, soft ripened tannins with a tarty acidic backbone ensure a pleasing complex, lingering palate with a textured finish.

Pairings: A very food-friendly wine, it’s great with beef, lamb, and veal.

Cape Doctor “The Red” Blend ~ 2018

The Cape Doctor is the local name for the strong south-eastern wind that blows from False Bay and funnels through to Cape Town and Blouberg. The Doctor works his magic by blowing away smog and impurities, clearing the skies, and making way for some fresh sea air. This has a beneficial effect of long ripening periods for the grapes, which produces concentrated berries with fantastically firm acidity. Drink now – 2033.
Appellation: Stellenbosch, South Africa
Grapes:  55.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 5.5% Malbec, 5.5% Cabernet Franc, 5.5% Petit Verdot – ABV 14.5%
Tasting notes: Fruits on the darker side of the spectrum with cassis and rich fruitcake on the nose accompanied by cinnamon spice and dark chocolate from generous oak aging. Concentrated dark berries are complimented by a creamy texture with elegant soft tannins delivering a beautiful long-lasting finish
Pairings: Enhances your beef, lamb, poultry, or game dishes.
Aging: 22-months 100% new French oak barrel (cab/merlot), second-fill oak (others)
